New airfield for sky-jumping

Almaty, June 01, 2009 (Khabar) - Sky-jumpers from seven cities of the country have assembled to celebrate the opening of a new sports season. And they can participate in the opening of an airfield, which is to become a base for all admirers of an extreme sport in Kazakhstan. Amateurs and professionals will be able to participate in sky-jumping, hand gliding, kite surfing and motorcycling activities. The “Severnyi” airfield will also be a base for the Kazakhstan’s sky-jumping federation. It was the ministry for sport and tourism, which initiated the integration of all city federation into one, which will be aimed at the training of sportsmen for the national team of Kazakhstan. The members of the Kazakhstan’s Civil Aeronautics Board Amantai Zhaltybayev will head the federation.

Amantai Zhaltybayev, president of RK sky-jumping federation:
- It is planned that this federation will be public and supervised by the government. The new airfield will receive admirers of the sky-jumping, hand gliding, kite surfing, paragliding and motorcycling.

Gabdul Arinov, USSR sky-jumping master of sport:
- I was very pleased to know that currently we have such a place, where paratroopers, sky surfers and motorcycle racers can show their talent.
