Physical literacy meeting preparations complete

Manama, Aug. 29 (BNA): The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is putting the final touches on the Min International Physical Literacy Convention, due to take place on September 9 and 10 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama. This two-day conference is organized by the Bahrain Olympic Academy, which is under the BOC, in cooperation with Podium Conferences, based in Victoria Canada. It aims toexpand knowledge and awareness about physical literacy on both, how to apply in practical settings, and to build policies to support healthy communities. The conference is designed to attract representatives of a variety of ministries both here in Bahrain and within the region, ministries like health, recreation, education, economy. It will bring some of the leading presenters to be here, three of those are coming from Canadaand Australia. Canadian expert Richard Way will be among leading speakers in addition to compatriot Ton Jones and Australia’s Dr Dean Dudley. They will present three major themes over the two-day event, which highlights the following slogan “Active Nation, Healthy population”. The preparatory committee, headed by BOC sports affairs executive director AbduljalilAsad, has finalized its preparations by looking into a number of reports presented by members of the committee. Twenty-nine volunteers, headed by Mahmood Al Shaikh, will be available at the conference to provide assistance in bringing up this event for the first time in Bahrain. The conference will attract those delegates to learn more about how they can build and prepare policy to support these.
