PM lauds Thai paralympic athletes
BANGKOK, September 16 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha admires Thai paralympic athletes who are performing well at the Paralympic Games 2016 in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro, promising that the government will provide welfare for persons with disabilities (PWDs) equally to their physically-abled fellows.
Quoting the prime minister's remarks, Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists that the prime minister has followed the Paralympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro since the first day and expressed his appreciation and given moral support to all the Thai athletes for doing their best at the world sports contest.
According to the spokesman, the prime minister lauded the Thai paralympic athletes for having won many medals for the nation just a few days of the competition, bringing Thailand among those listed on top in the Asian board and that of the ASEAN Community (AC).
The spokesman stated that the government has provided the Thai paralympic athletes with financial support before they departed for Brazil and will reward those winning medals for the nation with cash prizes when they are back home.
Besides, the government will continue providing support for their skill development individually and as a team, the same principle rendered to physically-abled athletes. (TNA)
