BANGKOK, August 1 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha admires a female Thai golfer, Ariya Jutanugarn, for bringing fame to the nation, while giving his full support for the pro golfer in her journey through the upcoming Olympics in Brazil.
Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists on Monday that the prime minister has expressed his appreciation to the pro female golfer, nicknamed May, for winning the Women's British Open, the first-ever major title for Thailand, bringing reputation and recognition to the country.
"The prime minister praised 20-year-old pro May, although quite young, is extremely talented and is a complete professional, as she is able to learn and develop her techniques by herself through determination and ambition", said the spokesman.
According to the spokesman, the prime minister also lauded pro May for her always concentration during her matches, which helped her to wade through all obstacles and reach the victory title in the end, showing that the victory was not achieved through luck but solely through her ability, responsibility and practice.
The spokesman stated that the Thai premier gave his moral support to pro May, as she is set to also represent Thailand in the forthcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, echoing that all Thais are cheering her to win all competitions at the biggest world sports event. (TNA)
