Positive results for the Bahrain Triathlon team in Australia

Manama, Sep. 5 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, praised the results achieved by the Bahrain Triathlon team in their participation at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships which was held recently in Australia. HH Shaikh Nasser underlined that the team’s results reflect the true abilities and perseverance of the Bahraini youth as well as the capacity of improvement for the triathlon sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain. "Whoever is following our national triathlon team is aware of the dramatic improvement in their performance which happened over a very short period. Our team members have been very keen to make a leap in their performance in order to realise the best results and hold high the flag of our beloved country, on international stages. This has been very crucial in getting our team performing at the highest level and compete against the best," HH Shaikh Nasser said. On his behalf, Dr. Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Triathlon Association, underlined that the honourable results achieved by the Bahrain Triathlon team in Australia reflects the extraordinary efforts being put in by the Bahraini athletes who have benefited from extensive development programmes and strategies. He also praised the performance of the team, stating that it shows the serious training programme the Bahrainis underwent prior to the event. It’s worth noting that the Bahrain Triathlon team members Michael Calahorra and Salem Al Dossari finished the race in 4:17 minutes and 4:59 minutes respectively. Meanwhile, their compatriots Nawaf Al Daen, Jamal Al Dossari clocked in 5:06 minutes and 5:07 minutes respectively. They were followed by fellow countrymen Yousif Zaman, Hamad Al Mansour, Jassim Al Bastaki, Mai Al Hajji and Hana Al Khalifa.
