Qatari National Karate Team to Participate in World Championships in Turkey

Doha, October 08 (QNA) - The Qatari national karate team will participate in the 2022 World Karate Federation U21, Junior & Cadet World Championships to be held in Konya (Turkey), from 26-30 October, with the participation of more than 1,000 male and female players representing nearly 100 countries. The Qatari team is represented in the tournament in the U-21 category, by Abdullah Rashad in the -84 kg group, and Yaman Al Natsheh in the -67 kg group. The Qatari national team players are continuing their preparations to participate in the tournament through intensive daily training in Doha before traveling to Turkey on October 23. The karate team began its preparations to participate in the World Championships, through a training camp in Morocco, which was held from March 12 to April 5. The team also participated in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Games Kuwait last May, and also in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games 2022 in Turkey, held last August. The Qatari team will also participate in the Asian Karate Championship, which will be hosted by Uzbekistan next December. (QNA)
