Shaikh Khalid voices pride in Bahraini youth

Manama, Aug. 11 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and the President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, congratulated Bahraini youth on the occasion of International Youth Day, celebrated on 12th August every year. His Highness expressed admiration for the skills and capabilities of the Bahraini youth in all fields, and their contribution to the development process, which has resulted in achieving the goals and aspirations towards a continuous comprehensive improvement for our beloved Kingdom. Reform Project of His Majesty the King and Governments’ Programmes Contributed to Empowering Youth His Highness confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain took noticeable steps to activate the role of the youth and consider them as an integral part in the development process, community improvement and involving them in the decision making process in line with United Nations’ aspirations to achieve sustainable development by 2030. His Highness added that this reform project for His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Kingdom of Bahrain, May God Protect Him, contributed in a noticeable manner to empowering youth and supporting their abilities towards innovation and positive participation in the sustainable development, and this reflected in the programme of the wise government, presided over by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, may God Protect him, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The programme included the implementation of blueprints, development projects aimed at empowering the Bahraini youth and integrating them in the development processes in all fields as well as supporting their achievements and initiatives which will inspire the developmental and constructive processes in the Kingdom of Bahrain. As this will also guarantee Bahrain’s progress towards meeting the United Nations’ plan for sustainable development. Noticeable Efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa For Taking Care Of The Youth His Highness, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praised the efforts asserted by His Highness, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in executing the vision and the directives of the wise leadership through the plans and programs aimed at taking care of youth and leading them towards innovation and positive contribution in various community projects. They Are the Backbone Of The Nation And Because Of Them, Countries Stand And Prosper His Highness: "The youth is the backbone of the nation and it is because of them that countries stand and prosper, and we, in Bahrain are very proud of the Bahraini youth who became pioneers in various fields, because of their artistic, intellectual and high-level contributions. They deserve praises and appreciation for their contribution in addition to receiving the esteemed recognition by the international family. The examples are huge in number and noticeable for everyone that the Bahraini youth have the abilities and the innovative capabilities, and they are faithful in putting into practice their expertise in a way that helps them achieve the noble goals required to elevate and improve the united Bahraini society. We believe in the Bahraini youth’s unique abilities, and we will assist them toward the elevation and prosperity of the Kingdom." I Am Proud of Them And My Experience with Them Was Pleasing His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa added, "I am proud of the energy and enthusiasm of the Bahraini youth in all fields. My goal is to continue supporting the youth and taking care of them and help improve their abilities, capabilities and innovative energy, which contributes in continuing, building and improving the society. My experience with the youth is pleasing, exciting and full of challenges and aspirations to achieve all the desired goals. Honestly, it is a joy is to be with the local youth. Me and my brother, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa are working towards developing the Bahraini youth in all areas of sports. The happiest moments are when I am present at any sport activities, near my colleagues. For example, I feel confident when I am surrounded by my team partners in sports that I actively take part in. When they overcome challenges and win, I feel that it is my victory as well." Our Youth is Our Country’s Greatest Asset His Highness continued his speech saying: "Our youth is our country’s greatest asset. Bahrain is proud to be able to lean on them to build a bright future, God willing, since their contribution in social and voluntary work is gaining and increasing importance on an international level, it has become necessary to encourage the new generation to take an active part and be involved in the voluntary programmes that benefit the society, because these works reflect positively on the youth themselves, through increasing the awareness amongst them, and contributes in enforcing their sense of belonging in the society and improving their abilities and their personal, educational and practical skills. This gives them the opportunity to express their opinions, ideas in public matters that is of public interest, and provide them with a platform to identify and prioritize the needs of the society, in addition to playing a key role in decision making." We Are Praising The Efforts Of The Ministry Of Youth And Sports Affairs His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the youth programs launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, under His Excellency Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, which aim to improve the youth’s abilities, and re-enforcing their loyalty and sense of belonging, and training them according to the modern methods and skills, in turn supporting them to manage the dialogues and encouraging them to be involved in voluntary work. This is in addition to improving the Bahraini youth relations with their peers in countries within the region and around the world. His Highness appreciated the efforts taken by the Ministry to support organizations, national clubs and youth centres in taking care of the citizens of Bahrain. His Highness also praised the Ministry’s participation in various activities and sports gatherings which resulted in honourable achievements. A Final Word.. His Highness concluded his speech by saying, "Our youth are full of life and energy and they have a lot of power, and with their love and aspirations, they will accomplish many things. I am always keen on advising the youth to take part in sports activities, as it is an important aspect which enhances the ability of achieving success in life, and from my experience, it helps to push forward. My participation in various sports and achieving success in them was an important incentive for me to push forward and expand my horizons to accomplish more and succeed in different sectors.
