Shaikh Nasser: Al Miqdad achieved required result

Manama, Aug. 21 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, affirmed his happiness at the result achieved by Bahrain Royal Endurance team's jockey Al Miqdad Janahi who came second in Belgium Endurance Championship. Janahi took part in the 120km race, where an elite group of European jockeys competed. The Bahraini jockey in his first European debut, outclassed all his competitors except for one, and finished second place. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was full of praise to the jockey, stating that "This positive result adds to the series of the successes recorded by the Kingdom's jockeys, which reflect on the abilities of our athletes. Bahrain has superb talents who can make this country proud at any stage."

It's worth noting that Janahi came from behind to grab second place in the five-stage race, having dropped back to eight place in stage 2. He managed to progress to second place at the end of stage 3, which he maintained until the end of the race, clocking 06.06.34 seconds, behind Elizabeth Hardi of France who finished first. Throughout the race, Janahi was in constant touch with HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa through phone, as HH was providing him with valuable instructions and guidance.

On his part, Janahi expressed his utmost happiness at the result he achieved in his first European appearance while competing against many top jockeys from across the globe. He praised HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for providing to him priceless instructions throughout the race, hailing HH's support in addition to the backing of his teammates. On his behalf, the Bahrain Royal Endurance team Manager Dr. Khalid Ahmed hailed Janahi's performance in the race, stating that the Bahrainis have once again proved their worth on a very tough ground.
