Sports Contest for Songun Torch Prize Opens in DPRK

Phyongsong, June 14 (KCNA) -- The Sports Contest for Songun Torch Prize opened with due ceremony at the Phyongsong Stadium in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK on Monday. Players will compete in ten-odd events including football, basketball, volleyball and table-tennis in Phyongsong, Sariwon, Hamhung and other cities of the country. Present at the opening ceremony were officials concerned, sports persons and working people and schoolchildren in Phyongsong City. At the end of the ceremony there took place a women's football match between South Phyongan Province and Jagang Province. -0-
