Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Judo Federation (MJF) organized the “Master-2012” tournament of veteran judoists dedicating it to the World Judo Day celebrated on October 28, birthday of Kano Jigoro, the founder of judo. Sponsored by the “Euro Asia Gem” LLC, this tournament has attracted senior judoists from Ulaanbaatar city-based judo clubs and from Selenge and Dornogobi aimags. The contests have ran in five age categories in men's 60, 66, 81, 90, -100, +100 and women's -70 and +78 kg weight categories. The Academy of Judo topped the tournament as the team results, grabbing five gold and two silver medals. It was followed by the “Khuch” sports club with four gold, five silver and eight bronze medals. ** ** ** Dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the mining sector of Mongolia, Mongolia's Chess Federation (MChF) has organized a chess tournament together with the Ministry of Mining and the "Energy Resource" company. With a prize fund of MNT 15.5 million, the tournament attracted top 100 chess players of Mongolia, including six grand masters. As the results, Men's International Master and Woman Grandmaster B.Mongontuul won a gold medal in the women's contest, and a Grand master Ts.Batchuluun took first place in the men's contest.
