Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The national university basketball team of Mongolia won a bronze medal in the 4th Asian University Men's Basketball Championship which was held from October 30 to November 4 in Chinese Taipei.
In the preliminary rounds, the Mongolian team defeated Hong Kong, China and the Philippines, but was defeated by the Republic of Korea and Taiwan.
In the semi-final game, the Mongolian team was defeated by Taiwan, failing thus to compete at the final. In the bronze medal game, Mongolian beat the Philippines 86:78.
With eight players, our university team is coached by Sh.Sedbazar and D.Purevdorj.

The “Khangarid” football club of Mongolia has captured a silver Cup in the first “Incheon-2012” friendly international tournament held in Incheon, the Republic of Korea.
The tournament has attracted six teams--from Mongolia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Thailand and the South Korea. The “Khangarid” FC defeated clubs from Saudi Arabia and Japan in first matches. The “Bangkok” FC beat the “Khangarid” at the final game.
The tournament's winner received a cash prize of USD 3,000, the runner-up--USD 1,000. A Mongolian footballer O.Monkh-Od has been selected the best player, the Fair Play prize went to S.Bayarzaya of the “Khangarid” FC.

A Mongolian wrestler B.Onorjargal won a silver medal in the World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship held on November 3-4 in Long Beach, California, USA.
B.Onorjargal has competed in the men's +100 kg contest, and his medal is the very first medal won by Mongolia at the world championship. He is a winner of a silver medal of the Asian championship for jiu-jitsu and bronze medal of the U.S Cup.
