Sports roadmap drawn to achieve goals

Manama, Aug 3 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: "We drew a roadmap that pointed and led the Kingdom toward and achieved the goal of being on the crowning podiums. The recent results of the Bahraini athletic sports team is a witness to that. This is the driving force for us to achieve more honourable results. Also, these results put to us a new challenge that we must overcome to achieve better results and prove Bahrain's goal to reach crowning podiums, which conveys the aspirations of the wise leadership and His highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, by achieving results that raise high the name of Bahrain in various sports events." His Highness further added: "We are facing an important phase in Rio Olympics. Our hopes are linked to the Bahraini runners in achieving new accomplishments that will be added to the Kingdoms athletic sports record. We are confident that they will exert every effort towards reaching that goal, having proved to the world their abilities and their position towards competing with runners from developed countries, with the honorable results they achieved in various participations that raised high Bahraini athletic sports and helped in reaching the developed ranks." His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, confirmed his complete support for and towards the Bahraini athletes in athletic games, shooting, wrestling and swimming competitions. He pointed out that the wise leadership and the Bahraini citizens will stand by them, supporting their performance in the Olympics. His Highness considers that the large number of athletes reaching the Olympics is a historic achievement on its own for the Kingdom, and a source of pride. His Highness also stated, that: "The responsibility of representing a country in various fields is the biggest source of honour and pride, there is nothing better than being the best ambassadors to our Kingdom by putting its development in mind. The sight of past achievements is a testament to the dedication of our athletes as they were able to accomplish many outstanding achievements, which invites us to stand by them and strongly support them." High Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, expressed his great confidence in the ability of the Kingdom's athletes to raise the banner of Bahrain up high and represent it with honour. He also added, that: "When the Kingdom of Bahrain participates in the 2016 Rio Olympics, hopes and ambitions point towards better results, especially after the great efforts made by the athletes and the Association implementing plans during the last period. Our main goal got from this participation is to represent the image of Kingdom honorably, to strengthen Bahrain's position in the international sports community. I am confident that our athletes will match these expectations with their eagerness, devotion and dedication in representing their homeland through past achievement, which makes the finest example of them being the best ambassadors for the country."
