Thailand vs Japan in Asian Women’s U23 final

BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) - Thailand will play against Japan in final of the SMM 2nd Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship this afternoon in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima. Japan defeated Taipei 3 – 1 sets on Saturday while the home team won three straight sets 25 – 21, 25 – 15 and 25-20 against Vietnam in the exciting semi-final matches of the SMM 2nd Asian Women’s U23 Volleyball Championship. The strong Thai team, supported by three national senior players including Ajcharaporn Kongyot and Pimpichaya Kokram, delighted local fans who packed the Mall Nakhon Ratchasima’s MCC Hall on Saturday to cheer. Saturday’s victory will also enable the Thai team to secure a berth to compete at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship to be held in Slovenia from this September 10 – 17. (TNA)
