PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), June 7 (Bernama) -- Tickets for the July 30 match between Manchester City FC, this year's English Premier League champions, and a Malaysian Selection at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here, will go on sale on Thursday.
The match, organised by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and promoted exclusively by ProEvents, is organised in conjunction with the latter's 20th anniversary in the football business.
"Despite escalating costs around the world, there'll be no increase in ticket prices for the match. They remain the same for the last decade," said ProEvents Group chief executive officer Julian Kam (right) at the ticket sale launch at Wisma FAM (FAM building) in Kelana Jaya here, Wednesday.
Tickets for the match are priced at US$18.32 (RM58), US$21.48 (RM68), US$34.2 (RM108) while limited VIP tickets are at US$122.55 (RM388). (US$1 = RM3.17)
The tickets will be available at all Ticketpro outlets, Ticketpro hotline and its official website, www.ticketpro.com.my.
Present at the event was Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany (second from right), FAM secretary-general Azzuddin Ahmad (left) and ProEvents International Sdn Bhd managing director San Boon Wah (second from left).
Meanwhile, Azzuddin described Manchester City's visit to Malaysia as a "precious and rare opportunity" for national coach K.Rajagobal and his players.
"We're very fortunate to have been able to see some top teams play against the Malaysia team. More to the point, the national team will have the experience of playing against top players every year," he said.
He noted that the visit could not have come at a better time for the Malaysian national team as they prepared to defend the Suzuki Cup in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) championship.
Malaysia is be the only Southeast Asian country to be visited by Manchester City and FAM's Azzuddin expected a lot of football fans from around the region would travel to Malaysia for the match. (photoBERNAMA)
