Support for Farms Surges in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The enthusiasm for rendering assistance to the rural communities is growing stronger across the country, true to the idea and spirit of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Officials and working people across the country have sent a large amount of urban manure to the rural areas several times since the beginning of the year, and without slackening this spirit they keep helping the agricultural sector.

Those of institutions and industrial establishments in Pyongyang City provided more than 160 000 pieces of medium and small farm implements and accessories of dozens of kinds.

North Phyongan Province worked out a plan to send much more urban manure to the rural areas of Ryongchon, Uiju and Phihyon counties before ploughing, and organized intensive transport in a bold and big way and pushed ahead with the repair and maintenance of farm machines.

Institutions and enterprises in South Phyongan Province sent a lot of urban manure to different farms and have helped them with farm work including waterway clearance more than once a week.

Officials in South Hwanghae Province mapped out a plan to help backward farms and workteams and took strong measures. City and counties in the province sent many farm implements to the countryside.

Other provinces, cities and counties, too, keep rendering material and moral assistance to the agricultural sector. -0-
