Tajik Media Praises HH The Amir's Visit

Doha, June 09 (QNA) - The media in Tajikistan praised the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the capital Dushanbe at the end of a tour of a number of Central Asian countries, stressing the importance of the talks that His Highness held with HE President Emomali Rahmon and their role in promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries, celebrating the inauguration of His Highness and the President of Tajikistan of the largest mosque in the country, where they quoted Imam Ali Rahman expressing the gratitude of the Tajik people to the State of Qatar for its help in building the Imam Abu Hanifa Al Nu'man bin Thabit Mosque. Tajikistan's national news agency Khovar said that the meeting and negotiations, which were held in an atmosphere of friendship, understanding and trust between HH the Amir and HE the President of Tajikistan, discussed a number of important issues for bilateral cooperation and prospects for developing and strengthening them, in addition to the relations between the two countries in the political, economic, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields. The agency added that the meeting reviewed ways to enhance constructive political dialogue, and emphasized the need to expand parliamentary cooperation as a basis for strengthening this process and to establish joint projects in competitive industries for export, especially drinking water, fruits and vegetables. The two sides also discussed, according to the Tajik Agency, ways to develop cooperation in the field of tourism, opening direct flights between the two countries, and the possibility of strengthening cultural and human relations, especially in the fields of science, education, culture, health care and other social sectors. The Tajik Agency stated that after high-level meetings and negotiations, 15 agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between the governments of the two countries. In another report by the same agency it said that HH the Amir and HE the President of the Republic of Tajikistan visited the picturesque and attractive places of the president's residence in Takob, noting that the aim of this visit is to get acquainted with the wonderful climate in the city, and to offer Tajik hospitality and see the stunning scenery. It added that the leaders of the two countries had a friendly conversation, enjoying the nature and fresh air of Tajikistan, as the tour left good impressions on HH the Amir of what he saw there. For its part, Asia-Plus said that the official inauguration of the mosque saying that the mosque has an area of 12 hectares and has a capacity of 133,000 prayers, with 43,000 inside. As for Avesta agency, it said that placing the cornerstone of the mosque took place after experts from both countries carried out accurate research, noting work on building the mosque began in Oct. 5, 2011.
