Airbus To Showcase Range Of Products At DSA 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- Global leader in aeronautics and aerospace industry, Airbus will bring a range of air defence products and services as well as helicopters during the 16th edition of the Defence Services Asia (DSA 2018) exhibition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from April 16-19. According to the company's spokesman, Airbus would feature the A400M-line of military carrier aircraft, currently being used by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) such as the C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), as well as the Eurostar 3000 satellite suitable for all kinds of communication missions. "The Airbus Helicopters section will feature the versatile H225M helicopter from the Super Puma group, which is also being used by the RMAF, as well as the popular H175 super-medium and H135 light-twin models. "Malaysia is a major customer of Airbus, and is the first export customer for the A400M, with the RMAF receiving its fourth carrier aircraft last year. Airbus has also completed the MEASAT-3b, the largest satellite ordered by the country's communications sector in 2014," the company said in the statement. Airbus is a leader of the rotorcraft industry in Malaysia with over 100 of its public and military helicopters being used in the country, besides having a regional helicopter maintenance, repair and restoration facility and training centre in Subang. More than 720 passenger and cargo aircraft have been ordered from Airbus by airlines in the country. "Airbus also has a robust industry partnership in Malaysia as the largest supplier to companies in Southeast Asia, and is a major provider of composite spare parts. Airbus's resources and partnerships in the local economy is estimated to be worth US$400 million a year, and provides over 4,000 jobs in Malaysia," said the statement. -- BERNAMA
