BAE Systems Showcases Cyber Security & Protection At LIMA'15

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (BERNAMA-EITN) -- BAE Systems, a UK-based global defence, aerospace and security company, is showcasing a Cyber Zone at the biennial Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace 2015 (LIMA'15) this year, focusing on capabilities and knowledge to protect against national-scale cyber threats to Critical National Infrastructure (CNI). This aligns with the importance of cyber issues during UK and Malaysia's bilateral discussions, according to BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Director in Asia, Mark Womble. "Just as some of our capabilities demonstrated at LIMA help protect the physical world, our cyber security capability helps protect the virtual, delivering solutions which help clients protect and enhance their critical assets in the connected world," Womble said in a statement Tuesday. For example, BAE System’s Intelligent Protection solutions combine large-scale data exploitation, 'intelligence-grade' security and complex services and solutions integration for national infrastructure and capabilities in national security and defence, energy and utilities as well as telecommunications. Also central to its showcase at LIMA'15 is BAE Systems' focus on strengthening industrial relationships in Malaysia, such as with CyberSecurity Malaysia. BAE Systems' commitment to help develop Malaysia into a leading cyber champion was emphasised by the presence of local staff from our Global Delivery Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Womble said. He added BAE Systems' capability was underpinned by its 30-year heritage with Malaysia and the rest of ASEAN through the delivery of strategic defence and security programmes. -- BERNAMA-EITN
