Defense Minister: Iran To Launch Fajr Satellite Into Space In June

Sari, May 14, IRNA - Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Sunday said Iran is to launch Fajr satellite into space as a national defense project in June. Vahidi was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony marking construction of a coastal waterway in Ramsar, west of Mazandaran province. "Iran is also to launch some heavy vessels in June, Vahidi said. Pointing to construction of the coastal waterway in Ramsar, Vahidi said Iran has always urged the Caspian Sea littoral countries to view the sea as a Sea of Peace and Friendship and not a military waterway. Once constructed, the waterway can be used by all Caspian Sea littoral states, Vahidi said./end
