DEWA records remarkable progress in new main water pipeline project

Dubai (WAM): Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has recorded significant progress in the launch of a new water transmission line at a total length of 67km, covering several areas of Dubai including the Dubai-Al Ain road, Dubai bypass road, Doha Street, and the camel racetrack. Building on the framework of its strategic plan to increase the efficiency and reliability of water systems, the new water pipeline will enable DEWA to meet the growing demand and increased water flow volumes in the various areas in Dubai.
"DEWA is moving forward in the implementation of development projects, particularly in infrastructure, as part of its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, and to meet the expectations of customers to the highest standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and safety," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director '&' CEO of DEWA .
"To date, DEWA has completed the extension of 40km of water pipes for the project, which accounts for 60% of the total," added Al Tayer.
"The project includes water pipes with diameters of 600, 900, and 1,200 mm. Estimated at a total cost about Dh 360 million, the project will increase the water flow, so that the pipeline will meet increased demand for water in areas such as Dubailand, Al Khawaneej, the camel Racetrack, and Mirdif," commented Al Tayer.
"The implementation of the project will be in accordance with the outlined programme and is expected to be completed before the end of the year," concluded Al Tayer. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
