Gading Kencana To Build Solar Cell, Panel Factory

MELAKA (Malaysia), March 3 (Bernama) -- Gading Kencana Sdn Bhd, a renewable energy services company, plans to build a factory to produce solar cells and panels in the next five years. Its managing director, Guntor Tobing, said the company was still looking for a suitable site for the factory. "The construction of the factory will need US$55.2 million (RM200 million) and will take three years," he told reporters this during a visit by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority here Tuesday. He said the plan to build the factory was due to the high demand for solar panels and cells that we received from Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Indonesia, Djibouti and Kenya. "It will serve as a centre for processing raw materials to produce solar cells," he said. -- BERNAMA
