MH370 Interim Report Of International Standard - Expert

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- The interim report and factual information on the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 investigation is of international standard and has integrity, said former MAS Chief Pilot, Captain Nik Ahmad Huzlan Nik Hussain. He said the report issued by Malaysian ICAO Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team for MH370 on Sunday (March 8) was detailed and transparent. The report presented in detail, records on preparation of the flight, communications between the cockpit and air traffic control, flight paths based on satellite data, crew and cargo of the ill-fated flight. "With the participation of seven countries under the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Organisation involving Malaysia, China, Australia, France, Singapore, Indonesia and the United States, the report is very thorough and clear," he told Bernama. Nik Ahmad Huzlan said it was supported by the involvement of Boeing, as manufacturer of the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, registered 9M-MRO which reinforced the transparency of the report released by the safety investigation team. "The investigation was carried out in a proper manner following international law, in terms of structure of report, it was very thorough with interviews involving over 120 personnel of various levels, including those in the civil aviation department and consignees," he said. He said the factual report covered the progress of the investigation up to March 7 and it was based on facts gathered throughout the investigation which were reliable with no deceptive theories. "Of course some people will dispute as no physical evidence has been found. We have to be patient because the investigation and search mission is not over yet. "Everybody wants to know, the where, what and how, based on the investigation, but that is all that we have obtained so far, so it is not quite right to say that aircraft was not found, the proper term is, it is still not found," said Nik Ahmad Huzlan. Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members disappeared from radar screens about an hour after departing from KL International Airport for Beijing on March 8 last year. The aircraft was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6.30 am on the same day. Meanwhile Selamat Omar, 60, father of MH370 passenger, Mohd Khairul Amri said he had accepted the fate of the incident since it was earlier reported that the plane had ended in the Indian Ocean. "I do not deny that the government had made a tremendous effort, I am thankful for their attempt which was reasonably well done," he said. -- BERNAMA
