Yazd University readmitted to IAU

YAZD, Feb. 04 (MNA) – International Association of Universities (IAU) readmitted Yazd University for a second time.
Director of University office for Scientific and International Cooperation Farhad Nejad Kourki informed Mehr News local correspondent about the story. He said that the University was adopted as a new member by IAU in 2001; “however, its membership had not been extended after 2007,” he added.
Universities of 120 countries around the world are members to IAU, and enjoy excellent grounds for international cooperation and support for member universities. “Access to World Higher Education Database Online (WHED Online), subscription to famous journals, news and information relate to the Association, international specialist advice, participation and invitation to international conferences and workshops are among the advantages this association grants to its members,” Nejad Kourki said.
Yazd University was founded in 1987 with admission of 38 students, and now has 15,000 students in different faculties and departments.
