Transportation Minister attends ITU high-level session

Geneva, July 11 (BNA): Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi and his accompanying delegation participated in the retreat which was held by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for its council members.

The minister also attended the ITU high-level session, which is being held in Geneva on July 11-21, in the presence of ministers, plenipotentiaries and heads of delegations.

Themed "Preparing the ITU for the Future", the conference was held in line with with the main priorities set by the Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP22).

The conference addressed many issues related to the strategic ITU direction, current, future challenges, strategic policies, setting priorities and future plans for the development of the sector.

The event also focused on enhancing the ITU governance and procedures to achieve the strategic goals and discuss the challenges facing communications and information technology initiatives.

"This conference is one of the important international conferences to discuss and develop a common vision for future policies and challenges for the telecommunications sector worldwide", said the minister.
