AirAsia X Opens Kathmandu Route For Online Booking

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- AirAsia X has opened the route for online booking on airasia.com for Kathmandu, Nepal. Promotional fares from as low as RM399 (US$125.25) from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu are available online from June 10 until the seats are sold out for the period between Sept 1 and May 22 next year. "We see a strong tourism potential for the Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu route and vice-versa which have led to our decision to start selling our flights online. "It's proven with our 100 per cent load factor during our inaugural flight from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur on July 3," said its Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani in a statement on Tuesday. The service, which commenced on July 3 from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu, was initially launched for sale via selected sales agents in Malaysia and Kathmandu. He said the flight into Nepal would foster new business travellers between South East and Nepal. "We see strong feeder traffic between the two countries. Our goal has always been to make international travel affordable for everyone. "In the near future, we are also looking at increasing our flight frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu. "The flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu will offer guests the opportunity to discover the historical and picturesque Himalayan capital," he added. -- BERNAMA
