Crimea hopes for travel boom in summer

MOSCOW, April 1 (Itar-Tass) - Crimea hopes for tourism boom this summer, First deputy premier of the Republic of Crimea Rustam Temirgaliyev told Rossiya -24 television. "Crimea accommodates around 5.5 million tourists annually. Most of them used to come from Ukraine, and around 2.5 million came from the Russian Federation. Now that Crimea has joined the Russian Federation, we are hoping for a tourism boom," Temirgaliyev said. "We expect many Russian airline companies to increase the number of flights to Crimea, organizing air service from Simferopol to all the big cities in Russia; we hope that the Crimean health resorts will be 100 percent full this year thanks to vacationers from Russia," Temirgaliyev said.
