Hotel Seri Malaysia Eyes Eastern Europe Market

BANGI (Selangor, Malaysia), Sept 19 (Bernama) -- Rangkaian Hotel Seri Malaysia Sdn Bhd (RHSM) aims to expand its hospitality services to new markets, particularly in Eastern Europe. Chairman Badrul Hassan Mohamed Kassim said it currently in discussion with several hoteliers in Istanbul, Turkey and Sarajevo in Bosnia Herzegovina to either collaborate or take over existing hotels. Hoping the negotiations would be concluded as soon as possible, he said the company targeted to start operations by the end of this year at the latest. “We are targeting three-star hotels, and both destinations are a gateway for us to spread our wings into the Eastern Europe region,” he told reporters after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between RHSM and the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (DPIM) here Wednesday. Currently, RHSM owns 21 hotels nationwide that offer more than 2,000 rooms. Hotel Seri Malaysia is the Malaysian largest medium-class hotel chain that was established in 1994, following government initiatives to boost the local tourism industry. Earlier, RHSM and DPIM inked an MoU to strengthen the collaboration between the two parties. The MoU is seen as an opportunity for RHSM to promote Hotel Seri Malaysia brand among DPIM entrepreneurs as well as rebranding its products and services. Badrul Hassan also said the hotel chain is in the process of improving its services. -- BERNAMA
