Malaysia's Perak State To Introduce New Tourist Attractions This Year

IPOH (Perak), Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Perak state will introduce new tourist attractions this year to boost the tourism industry in the state, following the closure of the Movie Animation Park Studio (MAPS) last Tuesday. The state Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Tan Kar Hing said among the attractions were ‘Ipoh Light and Show’ and Digital Art Library. “MAPS is one of the tourist attractions in the state and its closure will have some impact on the industry, that is why we are looking for other avenues to generate income,” he told reporters after viewing preparation for the state-level Chinese New Year celebration here Monday. On Jan 28, the Receiver and Manager of the Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd (ATP), Messrs Ernst & Young issued MAPS closure notice, effective on the same date until further notice. The RM520 million theme park was opened to the public in June 2017. -- BERNAMA
