Malindo Air Launches KL-Jeddah Route

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Malindo Air has launched a new service from here to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with a one-hour stop-over in Ahmedabad, India. In a statement Tuesday, Malindo Air said, the introductory promotional fares (return all-in) for the flights would start from RM3,999 (about US$896) for business class and from RM2,899 (about US$649) for the economy class. Malindo Air said it will fly to King Aziz International Airport, Jeddah from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Main Terminal Building twice a week starting Tuesday until March 25, 2017. Its Chief Executive Officer, Chandran Rama Murthy, said the commencement of the new route to Jeddah was to enter the main gateway to the Saudi Arabian holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. "This will create another affordable option for our Muslim guests to perform the umrah and haj," he said. Chandran said the airline was optimistic of a good response for this route. "We already have plans to progressively increase our frequencies from twice to four times weekly and daily flight during the month of Ramadan," he said. -- BERNAMA
