Terengganu Targets 5.5 Tourists This Year
KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu, Malaysia) Feb 2 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu state government is targeting tourist arrivals of 5.5 million this year compared to five million last year, said Chief Minister Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman.
He said, at the same time, all parties in the state were actively making preparations for the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VMY2020).
“We are very happy that Terengganu is chosen as one of the states to jointly promote the VMY2020 programme and several projects are also being developed to attract tourists, including the construction of the bridge which connects Kuala Terengganu to Seberang Takir,” he told reporters.
He said the bridge was expected to be ready in September and would be the latest attraction to draw tourists apart from the beauty of the island and Tasik Kenyir (an artificial lake located in Hulu Terengganu).
Earlier Ahmad Razif officiated the KT City Fun Run 2018 programme at Pulau Warisan, Kampung Cina here, involving about 4,000 participants.
