DEUTSCHE BAHN APPRAISES MONGOLIAN WORKERS’ SKILLS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian Railroad Builders Association Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Road and Transportation Ministry. Prior to that, twelve companies of Mongolia, which have been sub-contracted to the Ukhaa Hudag-Gashuunsukhait railroad project, formed the Association. The main contractor of the 267 railroad project is the South Korean Samsung C&T engineering and construction group, who carries out global business in some 50 countries. Visiting the construction site, the Road and Transportation Minister A.Gansukh urged the Mongolian contractors to learn from this globally experienced firm, paying a proper attention to meeting international standards in railroad building. At the pact signing, Yo.Manlaibayar, a department director at the Road and Transportation Ministry, said the building of road barrier, a two third of which has been completed so far, will end next year, giving a way to next actions of rail paving and signal system installment. Subcontractors, all Mongolian companies, are working under a firm inspection by Deutsche Bahn, a German railway company. Responding to question about the skills of the Mongolian railway builders, officials of Deutsche Bahn appraised the workers’ knowledge and competency.
