Gas equal to 328m barrels crude oil annually wasted in Iran

Mashad, Razavi Khorassan Prov., Jan 4, IRNA – Managing Director of Iran Fuel Conservation Company Ali Vakili says based on studies made, annual waste of gas in Iran is equal to 328 million barrels of crude oil. Vakili made the remark in a ceremony to sign Memorandum of Understanding for implementation of the national project for upgrading efficiency of motor stations and energy conservation. Vakili said the volume of gas and energy produced and consumed in Iran is incomparable with those in any other part of the world. With such volume of gas produced, Iran should not stand as exporter, while the case is that it is even importer of the fuel, he added. He noted that 39 for 42 percent of domestic gas consumption in Iran goes to the households. 1378/IRNA
