PARLIAMENTARIANS AT PAGE DUBAI 2014 CONFERENCE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian delegation is participating in the First Global Conference of the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) which commenced Tuesday in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Our delegation has included S.Oyun MP, the Minister of Environment and Green Development; O.Chuluunbat, the Vice Minister of Economic Development; parliamentarians G.Bayarsaikhan, D.Ganbat and L.Erdenechimeg; and authorities of the Ministry of Labour. This conference aims to receive opinions and views from countries for a draft policy on the Green Economic Partnership. Mongolia has become one of the first states to back this draft. The Minister of Environment and Green Development S.Oyun delivered a report on measures for the document. The PAGE is a joint initiative by UNEP, ILO, UNIDO and UNITAR to provide comprehensive assistance to countries seeking to develop and implement inclusive green economy strategies. The inaugural conference on PAGE is currently being held in the United Arab Emirates, under the Patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The two day event will end on Wednesday. The conference is an opportunity to review international experience and progress related to green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication. It is also considering how greener economies can contribute to the emerging post-2015 development agenda.
