President: MP3EI Projects Will Be Implemented
Jakarta, Dec 7 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has stated that projects that are part of the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia`s Economic Development (MP3EI) will be implemented.
"The MP3EI projects will not be on paper alone. In fact, they will be implemented," said the president, during the inauguration of eight projects of PT Pertamina, on Thursday.
Those who are skeptical will not allow Indonesia to progress, he said.
"This nation will not make progress if people are skeptical and pessimistic. We can only progress if we think positively and become part of the solution," said Yudhoyono.
Between 2012 and 2014, projects related to economic and energy development will be implemented. Until 2012, 41 projects worth Rp149 trillion have been inaugurated, he stated.
"We should act quickly because we are aware of our problems, and we have found the solutions. What we need to do now is to implement these solutions to the best of our abilities," he said.
President Yudhoyono inaugurated eight projects worth US$15.8 billion, including a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in West Java.
The president also inaugurated the Enhanced Oil Recovery projects of Pertamina EP, Pertamina Hulu Energi, Pertamina EP Cepu (worth US$15 million); gas processing plants in Sungau Kenawang and Pulau Gading (worth US$325 million); the NGL plant, Perta Samtan Gas (worth US$193 million); three units of tankers - Kakap, Meditran and Gamkonora (worth US$78.8 million); and the first two units of the Ulubelu power plant (worth US$114 million).
