VP, Turkey Min. Consider Iran Gas Transfer To Europe

Ankara, June 30, IRNA – Vice-President Ali Saeedlo and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz discussed Iran gas transfe to Europe through Turkey here on Friday. In the meeting, Iran Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour and a number of Iranian delegation accompanying Saeedlo were present. The latest developments in energy cooperation between the two countries were discussed and decisions were taken for further cooperation. Taner Yildiz said that relations between the two countries are developing in different fields, especially energy. Saeedlo said that Tehran-Ankara relations are in a good level and the two countries have great capacity in the field of energy and natural resources, so the two sides intend to maximize their economic interactions and expand trade ties. One of appropriate fields for interactions is Turkey Energy Ministry, so we can seriously start our work in the fields of oil, gas, electricity and mines, said Saeedlo. Referring to his meetings with Turkey officials, especially President Gul, Saeedlo said that necessity of acceleration in implementation of activities were underlined. Saeedlo, by referring to Iran gas and oil transfer plan through Turkey to Europe and joint investment plan in the field of generation of electricity in Iran and Turkey, said that there is a good outlook for bilateral cooperation in the field of energy. Vice-President in International Affairs Ali Saeedlo arrived in Ankara on Wednesday evening. He had meetings with Turkey Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun. He also submitted invitation letter of President Ahmadinejad to Turkey President Abdullah Gul to attend Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Tehran in September. Saeedlo and his accompanying delegation will depart Ankara for Tehran on Friday evening./end
