WB helps reduce power loss

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Head of the Citizens' Representataive Khural of the UB city D.Battulga Friday received Mr Peter Johansen, a Senior Energy Specialist of the World Bank (WB) in East Asian and Pacific Ocean regions.
The sides focused on the "Energy Sector" project that was launched in 2001 and completed this September 30 by the WB to reduce electricity power losses and to improve its revenue collection through increased responsibility and financial sustainability of electricity distribution networks of the city' seven districts and western ger area and some aimags.
"I am grateful to you for this project, thanks to which many profitable actions have run such as updating a 'Dornod-1' substation from 6 kW up to 10kW, constructing a new substation with 35kW, and creating five "Customer service" centers in the city and one in suburban area," said Battulga.
As a result of all this, the electricity losses have reduced by 20 percent, and 7.5 billion MNT have been saved, he underlined.
After this he asked the WB to cooperate in the electric power supply work reflected in the ger areas' re-planning actions.
In response, Mr Johansen said the WB will study this proposal and is ready to collaborate.
