Area prepared for construction of royal crematorium in Bangkok

BANGKOK, November 2 (TNA) - New Bangkok Governor Police General Aswin Kwanmuang says that the construction of the royal crematorium for late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej should be started early next year, after a guidance given by Her Royal Highness Princess Maka Chakri Sirindhorn. The Bangkok governor told journalists on Wednesday that the work plan would be concluded after Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s visit to the real site for the crematorium construction at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground near the Grand Palace. The governor said the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is, in the meantime, rearranging the use of Sanam Luang ceremonial ground for current activities. The governor explained that two-thirds of 30-acre Sanam Laung will be used for the construction of the crematorium, while resting areas and mobile toilets for people coming to pay respects to the royal urn of the late and beloved Thai monarch have to be, thus, moved to the other side of the ceremonial ground. Meanwhile, Deputy Bangkok Governor Police Lieutenant General Amnuay Nimmano announced that the time for the distribution of donated food to the public has been readjusted to 6am-9am, 11am-2pm and 4pm-8pm daily.
