ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry meet in Thai North

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, September 25 (TNA) -ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry are gathering in Chiang Mai Province in the Thai North for their 39th meeting during September 28-29, which will be followed by a meeting with their counterparts from China, Japan and South Korea until October 1. Thai Deputy Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperatives Lertviroj Kowattana told journalists of the schedule, noting that the 39th ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry is aimed to enhance cooperation and the competitive advantage of the 10-member ASEAN Community (AC) on food safety, agriculture, fishery, livestock and forestry. Lertviroj revealed that exhibitions on royal projects on the development of the Thai agriculture and forestry of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun will also be organized as part of the ongoing regional gathering. "The 17th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three, in which agriculture ministers of China, Japan and South Korea, the three key dialogue partners of ASEAN, will participate to discuss cooperation in the farm sector with the ASEAN bloc will be then followed the ongoing two-day meeting among 10 ASEAN member countries", said the senior Thai official.
