Biak Numfor District Wins Adipura Trophy Again
BIAK, Papua, Aug 3 (Antara) - The Biak Numfor District in Papua Province has received the Adipura Trophy for the fourth time from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Jakarta.
Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya presented the Adipura Trophy to Biak Numfor District Head Thomas Ondy at the Manggala Wanabakti building in Jakarta on Wednesday night.
Contacted by Antara here on Thursday, Ondy said the award of the fourth Adipura Trophy is a success with all elements of the people of Biak Numfor District.
"I hope the success of Biak to receive Adipura for the fourth time as the cleanest small town in Papua Province can give a joint commitment to realize Biak clean, beautiful, comfortable, peaceful and green," Ondy remarked.
He expressed his gratitude to all elements of the customary community of Biak, the Panguyban Nusantara community, janitor, regional enterprises, and the military and police units who have supported the clean Biak program to reach the Adipura 2017.
With Biak getting cleaner and more comfortable, Ondy expressed hope that the district can be the attraction of every person or community organization to keep making Biak as a venue for various events.
To the janitors and street sweepers who work every morning and every day, Ondy also expressed his gratitude for them for being able to realize the image of a clean small city of Biak.
"The awareness to realize the city of Biak clean should be the responsibility of every family, environment and community," the Biak Numfor district head said.
