Ibobi Singh sworn in as Chief Minister of India's Manipur state

Imphal (Manipur, India), Mar 14 (PTI) Sixty-three year old Congress party leader Okram Ibobi Singh was today sworn in as the 23rd Chief Minister of the northeast Indian state of Manipur for a third consecutive term. Governor Gurbachan Jagat administered the oath of office and secrecy to Singh at a simple ceremony at the Governor's House in the afternoon. In the elections held in the state in January the results of which were announced last week, Congress party won 42 of the 60 seats in the state assembly, securing a two thirds majority. PTI
