Indonesia to showcase cultural diversity at G20 Finance Track meetings
Jakarta, February 15 (ANTARA) - Indonesia, as the chair of the 2022 G20, will showcase its diverse culture and crafts to the international community through the implementation of Finance Track events in February, an official informed on Monday.
"We want to provide benefits and positive impacts of the G20 meeting for the domestic economy," Secretary for Logistics of G20 Finance Track Rudy Rahmaddi said during a virtual press conference on the preparations for the meeting.
The Second 2022 G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) Meeting on February 15–16, 2022, and the First 2022 G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting on January 17–18, 2022 will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Complex, South Jakarta.
At least 175 participants are estimated to attend the meetings in person, Rahmaddi said.
In addition to the meetings, the organizing committee has prepared a number of other activities, he added.
One of the activities is the establishment of MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) outlets to promote Indonesian eco-friendly products, such as batik, silver jewelry, as well as handicrafts made from wood and plant waste, he informed.
The committee will also present a traditional puppet performance called ‘wayang blencong,’ organize social running and cycling activities with the theme of Betawi village, make a presentation on GBK Stadium's history, as well as introduce ‘keroncong’ songs, he said.
"The ‘wayang blencong’ performance will be associated with the theme of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency of ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger,’" the official said.
The implementation of the side activities is aimed to show that Indonesia is promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth, he added.
Meanwhile, quality MSME products will be showcased since the Indonesian economy is mainly supported by MSMEs, which have great potential for international trade, Rahmaddi said.
The Second 2022 G20 FCBD Meeting will discuss communique drafting.
Meanwhile, the First 2022 G20 FMCBG will discuss six agendas: global economy and health, international financial architecture, financial sector issues, sustainable finance, financial infrastructure, and international taxation.
