Iranian handicrafts exhibition opens in Moscow

Moscow, Sept 4, IRNA – Iranian handicraft exhibition ‘Mysterious Iran; a journey to fiction garden’ was opened on Monday during the Iran’s cultural week festival in Moscow.
In the opening speech, Iran's ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei pointed out the mounting cooperation between Iran and Russia and said, “The two countries should expand their cultural collaboration as they have done already in political and economic fields.”
Also in the opening ceremony, chairman of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Abuzar Ebrahimi referred to the loftys position of arts in Iran, said, “These festivals expand the cultural relations between Iran and Russia and connect their people.”
Ebrahimi implied that art is one of the best means of connecting and introducing nations and said, “Iranian people have been the messenger of peace in the world throughout the history.”
“This event can demonstrate how insignificant are the Islamophobia programs which are followed up by Western countries,” he added.
The Director of Russian Decorative Art Museum Elena Titova also participated in the opening ceremony.
The week-long exhibition presents a variety of Iranian artworks including carpets, kilims, paintings, calligraphy, and pottery.
