Merit-Making for Late King

BANGKOK, Oct 21 (TNA) - Thailand’s Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn presides over a merit making for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej as representatives from various countries and people have still thronged the Grand Palace where to pay their last respect to the loved and late King. The Crown Prince and members of the royal family attended the religious rituals held on Thursday to mark one week after King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away. Religious rituals proceeded with more special details than daily rituals at the Chakri Maha Prasat throne hall inside the Grand Palace. Monks from Buddhist temples are holding chanting rituals as part of the funeral rites for the late king until a cremation ceremony after the national mourning period. Outside the palace, mourners have gathered to express their undying love and respect for the monarch as close as they can be to the Grand Palace. They are able to pay respects before his portrait and to sign farewell messages during the day, at night many have also shown up and prayed for the King outside the palace wall. Foreign diplomats and representatives of international organization have also expressed their condolences and paid their respects in front of the king at a pavilion. (TNA)
