OIC members express commitment about integrated water resource management
ISTANBUL (A.A) - Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states expressed on Tuesday commitment about integrated water resource management.
Turkey's Forestry and Water Works Minister Veysel Eroglu said the OIC water vision paper would lay the groundwork for cooperation and assistance in water issues.
"Member states have expressed commitment about cooperation and partnership in water demand and sustainable water resource management, as well as integrated water resource management," Eroglu told a press conference at the end of OIC conference of the ministers responsible for water in Istanbul.
Eroglu said participants unanimously adopted OIC water vision paper in the meeting, and decided to share know-how and experiences, and organize forums and conferences.
OIC member states also agreed to encourage partnerships and implement national projects to contribute to rational use of water, Eroglu also said.
Executives, particularly ministers, from 32 OIC member states, members of OIC Secretariat General, and representatives from observer countries and international organizations attended the meeting.
