People invited to send photos, videos to create history of late Thai King

BANGKOK, October 19 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Culture has invited people to send photos and videos to be part of a national historic archive of late and beloved His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Ministry of Culture reported on October 18 that more than 7,000 pictures have been sent in by the general public as part of the national historic record. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has assigned the Ministry of Culture and the Prime Minister's Office, as well as the Situation Monitoring Command Centre to collect both photos and videos from the general public, media members and other agencies, both in the public and the private sectors, as part of the national historic record in remembrance of late His Majesty the King. Photos and videos collected from October 13, 2016 onwards will be compiled into a book called, "The Archives by the People" and will be turned into a documentary, themed "His Majesty Will Always Be in Our Hearts", representing two of the most important national historic records and will be presented as historic evidence of the nation. Meanwhile, Thai Culture Minister Veera Rojpojanarat told journalists that he has been informed that more than 7,100 pictures have already been sent in for the project, including photos representing the people's loyalty and reverence to late His Majesty the King and pictures showing people lining up to pay their last respect to the late and beloved Thai monarch. The National Archives under the Fine Arts Department has also been ordered to gather late His Majesty the King's biography and royal projects for public exhibitions, while the general public are welcome to download the photos in remembrance of the late beloved and revered Thai monarch. The general public, media, and all other parties can participate in the project by sending in photos and videos to pic.culture2559 on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Pic. The ministry, through the Thai Film Archive has already gathered a total of 365 films on late His Majesty the King's works between 1960-1980 which can be accessed on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/ playlist?list=PLvc284hzb2J_ 0K2434Y7BA25k2L8E878P. Besides, the general public are welcome to access to pictures uploaded by various agencies on the http://www.finearts.go.th/nat/ website, where photos will be uploaded daily. (TNA)
