Poll:Bangkok governor passes on flood prevention, education
BANGKOK, October 27 (TNA) - A poll conducted by the prestigious National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) recently showed that incumbent Bangkok governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra was seen successful in flood prevention and educational development in the Thai capital.
But the NIDA poll, conducted among 1,494 people living in Bangkok from October 9-24, showed that M.R. Sukhumbhand was considered failing to solve heavy traffic in the capital, followed by drug and crime problems, high cost of living, dirtiness, street vendors and juvenile delinquency crux.
Most respondents suggested that the new Bangkok governor, to be elected in the upcoming gubernatorial poll, first address the traffic problem in the city, followed by flood prevention and high costs of living.
The upcoming election for the new Bangkok governor is to be held, as M.R. Sukhumbhand’s first four-year term as governor ends on January 10, 2013.(TNA)
