South Korean Students Learn Lampung Dance

Bandarlampung, Lampung, July 17 (Antara) - Four University students of South Korea grouped in the Korea Information Technology Volunteer (KIV) showed their enthusiasm in learning the Lampung Bedana Dance on the sidelines of their knowledge sharing here. The South Korean students are currently studying in the campus of "Institut Informatika dan Bisnis (IBI) Darmajaya", said the deputy rector of IBI Darmajaya, Novita Sari here on Tuesday. According to her, the Korean students were trying to assimilate with the local culture among other things by learning the Bedana Dance as a traditional dance. "The traditional dance, Tari Bedana is very interesting. We have already remembered three dance movements, as we practice for an hour with Miss Rini," said Do Yeon Gu from Myongji University on the sidelines of the dance exercises. "Although it was difficult to follow the movement at the beginning of the dance, but after we follow the musical instrument, we feel easier to join it," Do Yeon said. "We feel difficult without music, but if we dance with music, it would be easier," she said. Meanwhile Nur Listiani, one of alumni of IBI Darmajaya university as one of the dance trainers said that the South Korean students could remember three out of nine movements of the dance only in one hour. "As foreign students who learn the Lampung traditional dance for the first time, the Korean students can remember the dance movement quickly," she said. During their two month-stay in Lampung, the South Korean students will share their experience about development of information technology among other things by giving IT training in several schools including at the internet service center of subdistricts. In 2012, the Korea Information Technology Volunteer (KIV) students who joined training in Lampung comprising Sun Kyu Kim and Ju Sang Jung from Ajou University, Ji Min Kim from Sungshin Women`s University, and Yu Young Cho from Sungkonghoel University.
