Thai PM inspects security at Sanam Luang ground
BANGKOK, October 19 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has visited Sanam Luang ceremonial ground to inspect order and security in the area, as well as presided over a ceremony to launch a free tram service for the general public to facilitate their travels to pay their respects to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Grand Palace.
Accompanied by Interior Minister General Anupong Paojinda and newly-appointed Bangkok Governor Police General Asawin Kwanmuang, the
prime minister were also briefed on operations undertaken by the Peace and Order Maintaining Command (POMC) around the Grand Palace.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has joined forces with the private sector to also provide 14 shuttle buses for free rides of the general public in three routes around the Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, with nine shuttle bus stops around the designated areas, including the Democracy Monument, the City Pillar Shrine and Sanam Luang.
