Thai PM pledges to take care of farmers

BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha promises to take care of Thai farmers comprehensively, including solving their debts as soon as possible, while asking them to spend money wisely. The prime minister made the remarks while presenting prizes to outstanding Thai farmers this year at Bangkok's Government House on Thursday, marking the National Rice and Farmers Day in Thailand on June 5. The prime minister stressed that Thai farmers are considered the backbone of the country and his government has put efforts to resolve the drought problem this year. “All agriculturist need to turn crisis into an opportunity by using innovative technology in their production. Besides, everybody has to work as a team in both laying out plans and preparations”, suggested the Thai prime minister. (TNA)
