Three Haj Pilgrims Died After Arriving In Arafah
Arafah, Saudi Arabia, Oct 14 (Antara) - Three Haj pilgrims from Indonesia died in Arafah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday morning.
Doctor Masrip Sarumpaet, the head of Jeddah`s Health Section and in charge in Arafah, said two people died of heart attack and one had succumbed to a respiratory disease.
Besides those three, four people were hospitalized immediately after their arrival in Arafah.
"These four patients were admitted to the Jabal Rahmah Hospital in the Arafah area, thus ensuring that their wukuf worship would not be disrupted," Sarumpaet said.
He added that one person had to undergo dialysis treatment at the hospital. "He was scheduled to undergo that course of treatment two days ago, but the hospital was fully booked. So the procedure was rescheduled for 10 pm last night. He is back in Arafah now," Sarumpaet said.
Meanwhile, 35 pilgrims were hospitalized after they complained of heart problems, dehydration, respiratory illness, or indigestion.
On Monday morning, a patient admitted to Indonesia`s Health Care Center in Arafah had to be evacuated to another place in Saudi Arabia following complications related to his chronic lung disease.
According to Haj Integrated Computerized Health System data, 72 Haj pilgrims have died, 1,005 people were hospitalized and 585 outpatients were treated.
All Haj pilgrims from Indonesia arrived in Arafah on Sunday at 10 pm local time.
